skin material
The materials generally used for all inflatable boats are composed of fabric coated on both sides with reinforcement products to create a material with several layers : mechanical resistance
The combination of a high tenacity fabric and an outstanding coating, gives ORCA® a very high level of mechanical resistance                                     extreme condition resistance
The ORCA® product, intended for the leisure, professional, or military markets, meets the highest requirements for safe navigation in the most extreme conditions.  ultra violet light resitance
Thanks to the exceptional Characteristics of its outer Layer which protects from ageing, ORCA® offers a wide range of light fast colours

Inflatable Boat Apex Material We at APEX® use 1,000 Denier polyester reinforced material to ensure top quality for all our boats.

hidrocarbon resitance
Thanks to its outstanding quality & performance, ORCA® is highly recommended for anti-pollution barriers & oil recovery barges abrasion resistance
The chemical formula Of the Hypalon layer Makes ORCA® very Abrasion resistent

abrasion resistance
Outer Layer - Must be a highly resistant and tough layer that will protect the boat against the elements and abrasions.
Middle Layer - The strength of the boat is in this layer which comprises a heavy weaved fabric of either polyester or nylon.
Inner Layer - This layer is to ensure the boat remains air-tight and that the seams are well bonded.
Outer Layer - Hypalon® or PVC? For the outer layer, we at APEX® insist on using Hypalon®. This tough synthetic rubber by DuPont has proven to be the most resistant in the marine environment. It also meets all public and military contracting specificatons.
APEX® recommends Hypalon® for a tough material that will give extended durability.
Middle Layer - Polyester or Nylon? Polyester reinforcement, although more expensive than nylon, has definite advantages. The higher resistance to stretch ensures that the boat maintains a uniform rigid shape, thus improving both performance and stability. Its high tensile strength increases its resistance to punctures and will retain its shape for years to come.
Polyester and nylon reinforcement are measured in Denier or Decitex. Denier is the weight in grams of a 9,000 meter strand of yarn. Decitex is the equivalent for a strand of 10,000 meters. The higher the Denier or Decitex number, the stronger the material is. Be carefull with the quality of the material, just remember: 1,100 Decitex approximately = 1,000 Denier
Inner Layer - Neoprene, Hypalon® or PVC? APEX® boats have an inner layer of neoprene. This proven closed-cell elastomer has superior qualities for making material air-tight and seams perfectly bonded. This allows for the tubes to remain airtight for a longer period of time.
A fabric weight comprising higher will provide a stronger tube and longer life for your boat.
APEX® boats use a 1400 gram per square meter of Hypalon® fabric.
